A Group of Monochrome Gals

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Last two weeks there was a convention of syari'e counsels held in the Residence Hotel @ Uniten, Bangi. Things were so compact and complex that I had to arrange for a cab to send me to Jalan Duta very early in the morning and wait for me there while I was attending clients, before speeding up to Bangi for the convention. It cost me about RM50++ but loads of peace of mind, so I couldn't really say it wasn't worthwhile. I really had intended to catch up with some friends there and make an early way out for I had to immediately manage things at home afterwards - gotta balik kampung for tahlil.
Anyways, it was da bomb to gather in a place where you could see hundreds of hijabis clad in monochrome outfits. LOL. It would have been greater had I stayed longer and met more old friends but yeah, you can't get everything you want the way you really really want all the time, right? So, be glad, Nai.. Be Glad..! Alhamdulillah.

Hari Pasar Sedunia - Saturday's Summary

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. My day began very early yesterday, despite being Saturday. The venue was at the nearby Pasar Tani, restocking our supplies of fish for the whole month or so. My other half had earlier on left to get some lambs at Sungai Tua. And for the record, he had been the one who would always go to the Pasar Tani every month ALONE before this. With this yet-to-end water retention time, my mood swing(s) didn't get much remedies when I had to cook alone at home while Bibik and mom continued their Hajj induction course at the mosque. Who says being ikhlas is easy? Nobody, right? But that's life.
Anyways, the picture attached herewith was taken at night, yes, different pasar altogether - night market this time. Since both Bibik and I were given divine exemption of the month from praying, an exemption called PMS, we proceeded to AEON at 7pm for groceries hunt, restocking the supplies of what, 2 weeks, perhaps? A trolley full and laden with things would last less than a mo…

Me and Nasi Dagang, We Have A Thing Going On..

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. So, as per the title, that's how things are between nasi dagang (Terengganu style) and I. Simply put, I purely have been in love with it since time immemorial and in fact that's what I missed Terengganu the most, among others. As for preference, you might want to consider trying Nasi Dagang at Primula Beach Hotel, Bayu Restaurant to be exact. That's by far one of the most delicious and authentic Nasi Dagang in Kuala Terengganu from my point of view. The taste will linger forever, I may add. I however don't have any picture taken for each time I had the opportunity to lay my hands on it, I tend to forget anything or anyone else around. LOL. Hence, here are two candid pictures of how oblivious I was to my surrounding when I ate Nasi Dagang.

Absolute focus. Only my Nasi Dagang and I. Hurmmm... Yummeh!!

Pretty obvious, eh? ^_^ And oh my! How I wish  I could fly to Terengganu now!

Of MH 192 and Otherwise Flat Day of Nai

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Hi there, dearest friends. How are you guys doing? Hope you're doing great, Insya Allah. Apart from the shocking news on the emergency landing of MH 192 KL - Bangalore today, my life is as normal as it gets. Alhamdulillah. The fact that I'm already home at this hour is a bliss by itself, considering it's Monday.
We had a tahlil held on Saturday night for my late mother-in-law and late dad who had passed away some 30 and 5 years respectively. It was quite heart warming when I cooked for the function, my 1st attempt doing so at a large scale, which catered approximately 70 pax. Anyways, here are three selfies with my dearest boyfriend aftermath:

Killing time with style..

Should have asked someone to snap pictures of the function itself but everybody was so busy and we were short of hands to begin with.

Well, that's it for now. At least I have something to update this blog with, right? Thanks anyways for coming, love you all for that. Take care and catc…

Monday White Blues, Not...!

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I was really quiet all the way to PJ court today unlike most days when I travelled with my staffs. Didn't even have the mood nor the mental strength to create small talks. Mondays seldom do that to me, or any other days for that matter. I had meant to re-do my hijab once arrived at the destination but decided against it anyways. I was more than tired. May be the water retention syndrom, yeah, may be so. However, thank God I didn't lose what mattered most in my work - sanity. I was composed just as much it was needed to get the application heard and granted, thanks to my cooperative opponent. And thanks to Allah fore and foremost!

I managed to smile afterwards, though. Could have been much happier looking, nonetheless. But heck, some days are just bad per se! ^_^

Would love to wear the same dress again tomorrow, actually. Let's see how my mood sets in tomorrow morning, shall we?

Ladies Boss Jackets - Modest Intepretation of a Muslimah

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I grew up seeing my late dad loving boss jackets so much that I have somewhat fallen into the same preference. The good thing is that I can waive the heat from actually wearing blazers to work, especially when the occasions require me to layer my outfits with a robe. And the monochrome world suddenly makes more sense to me. ^_^
Here's my intepretation of Muslimah Boss Jackets:

I however find it much more practical to mix and match the jackets with separate skirts, rather than coming up with one suit like my late dad used to do, thanks to my gender's privilege - not to say it was wrong, of course. I feel so cozy each time I wear this kind of style, you see, knowing fully well that he would love it so very dearly himself. Yeah, I missed him so much!

Busking at Bukit Bintang, KL

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Last night I went out for a private dinner at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng and proceeded to Bukit Bintang to kill time, so to speak. Having parked our car behind the Paparich restaurant, we joined the crowd to catch a group of night buskers in front of the YTL Building. The group was quite good, I must say. And the guitarists turned out to be one from a group called 'Laksamana' and another from 'Kris'. It broke my heart to see them there actually, but I was somewhat proud of their determination and humbleness at the same time. Yeah, mixed feeling it was. I wish I were rich to hand over some handsome cheque to them, you know what I mean? It's a hard life but hey, life is hard!

Seniman Menangis Siapa Yang Tahu...

What a good show it was, really. I couldn't stay long, though. The pain was too much to bear.

I wish them all the best in their future undertakings..

Hey Ladies, Bercinta Biar Pakai Iman

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Hi there, ladies (and gents, if any). Juma'ah Barakah to all of you. Pardon the caption, nothing more than a phrase that came across my mind while uploading some pictures in the IG beforehand.

You know, I'm a strong believer in good parenting knowledge if not skills. Here's a self-explanatory picture collage that's worth sharing. Nobody ever told me that I had a nice smile so I never ever smiled back then. All I got to know was how smart I was, yes but never anything positive about the way I looked. And to make it worse, I got this forever comparison and contrast thingy with my closest cousin, which was detrimental to both of us. Only to her was the lack of confidence in terms of brain-wise. I guess that explained my interest in joining peers counseling club the moment I set foot in the Uni. I wanted to understand myself and unwind the unexplainable sorrow deep in my soul, which turned out to be a wise decision of a young me.

I learned a great dea…
