Jesse & Celine: Before Sunrise, Sunset and Midnight.

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I must have been too busy in 2004 that I had missed a movie by Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy called Before The Sunset. I watched it recently and cried my heart out and couldn't believe that it only lasted for 80 minutes, a bit too short for a good movie. Then I started to search in the internet about it and found out about Before Sunrise, which had been filmed back in 1995. And there's more to it, in 2013 came Before Midnight, a follow-up or status update of the love story between Jesse and Celine. Before Sunrise Before Sunset Before Midnight The beauty about this trilogy is that you are invited to watch a series of deep conversations between two people who had some great connection from the very  beginning. Then you get to marvel at how much they actually longed for one another over the years of unfateful separation. You know, the what-if's situations. The should have's, the could have's. The unbearable questions that d...

Recent Catches At H & M

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. So I promised my friend Shay to share the pictures I'm wearing what we bought together in Paris H&M recently, nothing much though - just a white oversized pullover with black tiger prints and a brown PVC jacket. I didn't bring any black jeans then so I paired the pullover with a pair of dark blue jeans - the next best thing, that is. Here's a picture taken in our rented apartment the last day in Paris, the only picture ever taken there, in fact.  Here's a better view, taken at the Heathrow Airport while waiting for our connecting flight home. OOTD pictures, I'd say. Don't mind the red shoes, dearest.. I'm a person who loves bright shoes for casual outings.  And here's a picture of me wearing the brown PVC jacket, taken recently in Kuala Lumpur while I was out for quick dinner. It's been raining in KL lately so it wouldn't be too weird to appear in public wearing some layers thicker than usual. I...

Transitional Lense: It's Black. It's White. Na Na Na.

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. It's much easier to wear a pair of glasses with transitional lense, as you can see in the following two pictures. It's like two in one, so to speak. In a normal room temperature the lense serves its purpose well and the same goes when your eyes need some comfort in an outdoor temperature. Saves you loads of troubles from changing into your shades when the need arises, right? But of course when the sun shines ever so brightly in Asian countries you would still in dire need of a pair of oversized sunglasses. At least to me, that is. Otherwise, less is more. Stick to that. I guess I should opt for this kinda lense more often from now on. And if you too have the same preference, how about giving it a try? You won't regret it, I promise. Meanwhile, enjoy your weekend and thanks for dropping by. Take care all. Assalamu'alaikum. - Nai at Tak Pe Je.

Stupid Plastic Gun at Heathrow London

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Hamleys is one of the largest toy shops in Europe, alright. And among others, it sells various types of plastic guns including this brand called Nerf. And being a Nerf collector, my son was allowed to pick one of his liking. We actually had been carrying it in our hand luggage in different connecting flights from 3 different countries and nobody got offended by the plastic gun.  Until the very last day, in our connecting flight from Paris to London on the way home. Apparently the customs officers there practically shook their heads in utter disbelief that we actually carried a gun! And one of them was so seriously troubled and took all the troubles to give me a lecture. He was like, 'In my opinion, I personally don't want to raise my children to carry guns. It's not a good environment in the first place'. I was like, What? Well, in my country nobody gets scared to see a boy holding a plastic gun, so I never have seen it as any problem whatsoev...

Playing Tourist Guide In London

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. This time we went to London with different family friends and Junior didn't get to spend time with his best buddies like the previous 2 years. He obviously didn't really bother much about the must-see places for he's done all of that before, so I was extra attentive to him and him alone. Yeah, you've gotta manage a kid's mood well to have a splendid holiday, mind you. I'm not gonna affix here all the hundreds of photos taken but a few. Yet still, bear with me please. We rented a serviced apartment nearby Canary Wharf Tube Station, a walking distance of approximately 15 minutes if you're moving in a group of 6 Asians, that is. After some time of not getting used to cold weather, it was bitter the first day we were there - especially to Junior and I. The end of fall and beginning of winter it was considerably too cold at 5 degrees in the morning. And the wind was Masya Allah, very challenging, which was later learned to be some m...

Paris, French Lesson and A Walk To Remember

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. So I was in Paris for 3 days and had the chance to meet a fellow blogger and instagramer, Shay there. It was like a dream, really. She walked us to the nearest cafe for a nice cup of coffee and we didn't have trouble at all finding the right way as it would have been otherwise without her. Born and raised in Paris, this Moroccan by blood is a babe in every possible way. Despite the wide apart age difference, we clicked in no time at all. That's what fellow bloggers are meant to be, don't you think? We have in fact connected long before we actually meet in person, you know that kinda obvious fact.  She then walked me to the nearest Zara and H&M and helped me choose a pullover and a brown PVC jacket. Well, sometimes you just need another girl to nod to your preference, right? (Ehemm!). And if you look closely, she too was wearing a PVC jacket underneath the cardigan. Anyways, time flew so fast and we didn't have much time to spend for sh...
