Change of Looks

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. So I have collected my new pair of glasses earlier this week. The glasses that received mixed feedbacks from my friends and family, that is. Apparently the plastic frames have taken over the optometric world and the leading brands have stopped the produce of iron frames.  I personally love both frames, iron or plastic but the latter gives more comfort to my eyes and nose, for that matter. Especially with the transitional lense that change color according to the temperature, I even feel comfortable under the sun.  Yeah, this pair of new glasses have also transformed me into somewhat new girl next door. Even my son commented last night that 'mummy looks different', so much for the change, eh? The frames are from Georgio Armani, the same brand with my oversized shades. It cost me MYR800 after a big fat triendly discount given by my lovely buddy Alice. Still expensive for me, though. But yeah, I wouldn't get that buddy-budd...

Birthday Bash - Leo Girls

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. There are three August girls in my office, myself included and we normally celebrate together except this year - one of us couldn't make it due to family matter. Anyhow, her name was still written on the cake.  I'm the only one who's not pregnant among the three, but counting my blessings I'm still thankful. Funny when I was in fact the first who conceived but yeah, God Has bigger plans for me, perhaps. Then again, who knows I will follow suit, right? Do keep me in your prayers, dearest...!  That's it for now, thanks for dropping by. Assalamu'alaikum. - Posted With Loads of Love By Nai at Tak Pe Je.

Casual Sunday - OOTD Post

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Forgive me for the silence, been quite busy running from one end to another, that is. Here's however a very quick entry that is somewhat self-explanatory, considering such a bold title to begin with.  Yeah, that's how I've been wearing jeans lately - with fishtail blouse. Worked just fine, eh? That's it for now, thanks for dropping by. Till then, Assalamu'alaikum. - Posted With Loads of Love By Nai at Tak Pe Je.

A Pair of New Glasses : Kisah Kaca Mata Baruku

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I felt like changing my glasses to something more vintage, which apparently has made a grand comeback. So, I went for 'test-drive' a few pieces and actually booked a pair that looked good on me. I was torn between the black one and the brown one, both of which you can see in the following pictures.  When I showed the pictures to my husband, he 'disapproved' both, saying that they would make me look 'older', to which I said both are in trend. Then again, little that he knew about trends, so yeah, let's see how it goes tomorrow when I see my optometrist for eyesight check-up. Actually both glasses - the black and the brown ones would be very comfortable to wear on daily basis, and more durable as compared to the existing pair. Plus, the frames are much, much cheaper eventhough the price will be rocketing once the lenses are charged.  Never mind, I'll let you know what happens next. Wait till I consult my dea...

Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera) Over The Decades

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I was fiifteen when I went to Penang Hill the first time and I still remember who sat next to me in the train uphill, a male friend called Syam. And more than two decades later an offspring of mine took the place of him. Then I was in a school trip all the way from my hometown in Kuala Terengganu, clad in school unfiform. So glad that I had survived the turbulence of teenage drama and behold! I'm gonna face the upcoming drama from Junior in near future! Anyways, looking at the signboard there, one thing for sure: We Had Apparently Been in Penang. Yeah, we had arrived! Bringing home bitter sweet memories with us. I almost lost my sun-glasses at the Owl Museum, which happened to be a total bluff because the owls were all in picture frames, t-shirt prints or small miniatures. What a joke! Even Junior had a big laugh at the absurdity of it.  But yeah, it was fun overall and I took loads and loads of pictures - and had mine taken just as mu...

Baju Kurung Is Here To Stay

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I have always loved modern baju kurung since time immemorial, a fact of which is known to those who are close to me. Not many Malay ladies feel the same way that I do anymore, especially the younger generation. There was even an advertisement recently that said more or less -'traditional doesn't mean to be boring' and I went like, Okay, what does that suppose to mean? Then I saw the pictures of modern or should we say fusion modern kurungs below the heading. Okay, so in order not to appear boring, we are now told not to wear traditional outfits like we used to before. we are now supposed to be wearing 'out of the box'. Then I knew immediately how old I had become. But that didn't sadden me a bit for I'm proud of my vintage modern kurung kinda preference. In my eyes, my heart and soul, traditional has never been boring. It's rather how we perceive things and how we present our personalities by being ourselves. We don't hav...

Penang Bridge, Ferry & Mee Kuah Ketam Balik Pulau

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Most Malaysians love Penang because of its food, a fact of which I can't disagree. One thing for sure, the traffic flow would kill you especially during festive seasons or school holidays. With that on mind, one should choose the right time to go there with peace of mind. So that Penang Bridge won't be packed like sardins, but rather a smooth sailing experience. Of all those Nasi Kandar restaurants around, you might wanna consider trying a different meal for lunch. Do give Mee Ketam Balik Pulau a try, dearest. BIG TIME -  It's a real deal, I promise. Open at 230pm (not sure daily or closed any other day), you can actually check in around 1pm and the chef would happily entertain you with orders.  Mee Kuah (soup) they call it, with ketam (crabs) and udang (prawns) - you can choose kuey teow instead. I really loved it when I took the first sip of the remarkable soup that I couldn't stop sipping, must be due to the sweetness of t...

Tudung-Tudung Rayaku (Eid Hijabs of Mine)

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I don't really have the 'material' to write so yeah, let's just talk about anything that comes in mind. This raya I didn't get to snap loads of pictures, by that I meant to say - Entire outfit kinda pictures. And I didn't particularly enjoy myself to begin with. Yeah, loads of drama as years go by that I wish I were a little girl minding my shoes and socks with my dad. But that's about how life goes, so why fret? Anyways, here goes: 1st Syawal - Green Day. 2nd Syawal - Pastel Day. 3rd Syawal - Pink, YEAY..! 4th Syawal - well, kinda pink (again). 6th Syawal - Pastel once more. Yeah, 5th Syawal was a dead boring day and I didn't go anywhere, just took my sweet time reading the Qur'an that I intend to finish reading its meanings back to back, no matter how many weeks it's gonna take. Whatever it is, always remember to smile, dearest. it's the easiest way...

Go try figure the rest of the multiply time-tables, and you're gonna be thrilled with your findings, really. Unless of course you knew it all along.. Awesome, huh? - Nai at Tak Pe Je.

Natural and Unconditional Mother's Love

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. How are you guys doing? This time I just wanna share with you a few pictures that fit to be called as 'papparazi's shots'. (NOT...!) It's actually a situation in which you've been really busy doing your own things and minding your own business, deep in thoughts or may be plainly talking to someone and you have no idea that there's a camera zooming at your activities from far. THAT situation, now you're with me? ^_^  In these pictures you can see (if you're with me, that is) how a mother tried her hardest to get her son amidst the crowd toward his immediate destination - feeding an elephant. Hence, the box of sugarcane in his hand. Looking at them makes me realize yet again how natural a mother's love is, and how unconditional. It doesn't even take a genius to understand such love but the person who took these pictures spotted exactly that, which makes it self-evident. And as you can see, there were many ...
