To Turban Or Not To Turban?

Image
Salam. I never really wanted to try turban. Not until I saw the following picture of Shila Hamzah in her FB recently. Then again, her face is kinda oblong as opposed to my chubby face.. Gotta apply loads and loads of tricks not to appear like a giant ball coming out of my face. Yep, that's for sure. Meantime, just had some fun with my inner hijabs for a start, inspired by Shila's way of wrapping her head. Mom really despised my 'over-sized' shades. But owh, I never expected her 'approval'. Hehehe. Those two hijabs I adore so very much. Got them from a warehouse in Sydney. Extra big and long, could spend the whole day wrapping head and face. Anyways, still contemplating whether or not to try turban. Hurmm...

Pantai Bagan Lalang ~ Sepang Gold Coast Revisited

Image
Salam. I wasn't feeling very well this weekend. Headache. Might be the weather, I guess. Too hot. Anyways, it was an outdoor weekend, so to speak.  We went to Sepang Gold Coast to enjoy the sea view. Not so much of an enjoyment, actually. We've seen much, much better view, originating from Terengganu ourselves. White Sandy Beaches. So, we expect no less, right? But as compared to Port Dickson, Sepang Gold Coast is much nearer as far as distance is concerned. We took a walk from end to end and went to pray Maghrib at the provided surau. Before grabbing our seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant. It's been a while since we last came here. Junior was frustrated when we didn't allow him to get into the water. And as it wasn't a windy evening, he couldn't even play kite, which added to his frustration. Unlike when we went camping last time, when he could do both.  This very picture was taken then. What a nice weather that time. A...

HIS-story of Hat-Trick Lost Snow Caps

Image
Salam. Let me share a story about Hat-trick.  Last year we stopped at Paris for a day before flying off to Malaga. Because of ample time we had, we went to Disneyland. I didn't know what happen but Junior lost his snow caps THREE (3) consecutive times. Back to Back. Hat-trick Scores. The 1st One that I brought from home disappeared somewhere-I-forgot-how.    Then I got this one for him, which was lost less than 5 minutes afterwards. As we were walking, I noticed the hat was no longer on his head.  He was all tears. If it wasn't because of the unfamiliar cold weather, I wouldn't have bothered. But what to do? Came the 3rd one. By then, I lost my humble mafla while looking up a snow cap for my own self.  Anyways, the 3rd hat was lost again. After a 3-D show in Madam Tussauds, London. And it took Junior FOUR (4) different hats to finally understand the meaning of taking care of his own thing. My husband's face was all blue in anger...

Last Franchise of A Wedding Story

Image
Salam. So this is definitely gonna be the final coverage on my brother's wedding. The reception took place a day after the ijab-qabul ceremony at a hall nearby the bride's home. Being the only kiddo, her parents went all out for her wedding, apparently. Understandable. The hardest moment for mom + her eldest son. Both wept no matter how hard they tried not to. And oh, how strong I had been all week through. Not a single teardrop in front of anybody. And being the eldest kiddo, I had the honor to be eating with the bride + the groom together with hubby, mom and the bride's parents. Not that I bothered to eat anyway. My immediate cousins were around. Felt so heaven when we were together. Too bad they couldn't make it the way they really wanted at our side in Temerloh. At least we had this picture and a few more at the bride's kenduri.  Something to cherish... Pheww.. that was it. Waiting for the next in line. May be my sister or the second brother some time ne...

Not A Wedding Planner

Image
Salam. Hey there, friends... thanks for coming. So I've been extremely busy lately. Hard to plan a wedding, ya? When you can't afford a planner, relatives are the best assets! That's something you can no longer get in loads of places, especially in town. In my village the spirit of teamwork is still intact.  Alhamdulillah. The rain started to pour in just after the canopies were erected. Worst nightmare for us, coz the ground would definitely go muddy. We should have rented our uncle's futsal's hall, come to think of it. But then, won't be fair to those who've booked to play. The guys led by my dearest other half took charge to mend things within their capacities. Thank God there were still stones and sands and soils, the leftover from mom's house renovation that could save the day. And the weather was friendly throughout the big day itself. The committees' shoes were ruined of course, but it's ok.. so long as the guests won't suffer that...

My Brother's Nikah Day

Image
Salam. September 16th, Sunday was a public holiday, celebrating the formation of Malaysia in 1963, with Sabah & Sarawak joining the rest of 12 other states. And my brother got married. It took him awhile to finally settle down. When the time came, it felt so hard to let him go. His 'Hantaran' of 9 items had been specially made by my lovely friend, Raja Azmi. But due to long journey to Terengganu from Kuala Lumpur, we had to retouch here and there. Apart from that, everybody was thrilled to see the outcome. May Allah Bless her..   Fate apparently brought a girl from Terengganu to become my sis-in-law. Even though my relatives in Pahang couldn't make it for the ijab-qabul ceremony, it was easy to gather the relatives in Terengganu itself.  But it would've been da bomb if they had come along, just like the following day at the reception, about which I would blog soon. I wish dad were around to see this. Mom was quiet throughout the ceremony, could barely smile ...

When A Boy Has A Camera

Image
Salam. Just a quick post from me. My boy really loves camera, you see. He's been taking loads of pictures from still digital cameras and hand phones since he was barely 3. Last year I sort of passed him my Samsung compact digital, since he was head over heels with the animation features therein.  Well, he used to do tons of cat's whiskers kinda thing. Now he's more into love sign and some other things. Especially when it comes to my pictures that he took. Loads of hearts. And it seems that to him Daddy has got so many ideas. Of course when he's got the time to snap our picture together, which is very seldom nowadays, he HEARTS it so very much. I'm okay with the fact that he loves camera. It's a good hobby, anyway. But I'm still exercising some kinda control, in the sense that I don't give him any expensive camera. Not just yet. Let him know he's gotta value what he has and prove to me he deserves a better one as tim...
