Kampung Gals - Wedding - Sunday - School Holidays

Assalamu'alaikum.  Sorry for my absence, lovelies. Been caught up with loads of commitments lately. Nothing much to talk about, after all. Herewith attached however some pictures taken at my immediate cousin's wedding recently. (School holidays, what do you expect? LOL). Anyways, we intentionally focused on a vintage old house our grandpa had built some thirty years ago to collect monthly rents from - for an obvious vintage impact.

I used to have the urge to paint the wooden house somehow or rather, but decided to go against the idea nonetheless. Let it be, for old time's sake. Some things are better left untouched, so I thought.

In fact, that's among the very few wooden houses left around and hence, the more exclusive it has become. Well, at least to me.

Gotta ask my family's point of view some time soon..

Meanwhile, let me just get comfortable being one of the kampung gals..

Rest In Peace, MH 370

Assalamu'alaikum. It was confirmed that MH 370 has ended in the southern Indian Ocean. If we the bystanders can't help our tears, imagine how the next of kins must be feeling now and the rest of their lives. Yes, the phrase chosen by PM Dato' Sri Najib Tun Razak was 'ended' instead of 'crashed' but still, it meant just that. Crashed. Drowning our hopes and positivism. What a thing to chew!

The fact that why on earth it has flown there in the first place still remains unanswered. Loads of speculations shall reign supreme, rest assured. However, let us have some respect for the mourning families of the passengers, captain, co-pilot and cabin crew. Be civilized at the very least, if you cannot be sensitive enough not to bad mouth here and there.

The Ocean is a remote area due to its depth and turbulent waves, which is analogically versed as 9 to 10 times the height of KLCC. So, the chance of survivors is slim to zero. Unless of course, Allah Wills it otherwise. The most suitable thing to say now is:

"From Allah We Came, To Him We Shall Return"

It's hard to even comprehend. It's heart-breaking. It's a reminder of who's in control of this world. None other than Allah swt. Let's stay united and pray, pray, and pray.

Solat Friendly Attires

Assalamu'alaikum. Dearest, hope you enjoy your weekend so far. It's been raining here in my place, which is awesome for the worsening haze. Alhamdulillah. Now that the rain has poured in, let's pray hard for the good news on our missing MH370, shall we?
Anyways, today I just wanna quickly write about my non-preference of designated praying attires (telekung) so to speak. Not that I don't wear telekung at all, don't get me wrong. It's just that I find it much easier to pray without it, especially when I'm on the go. Plus, my kinda work requires a lot of outdoor appointments and travelings. Hence, the lesser things I bring the better. That has extended to vacations as well somehow.

I started not to bring any telekung during vacations about 7 years ago when I went to Beijing for a week. It was by accident actually, when I had forgotten to pack one. I remember using a sarong pinned to a bonnet to creatively replace a telekung the first day there. Then I just opted for my long sleeve shirts and skirts and socks and of course, hijabs. The rest was history, apparently.

As of now, I'm so comfortable with my solat friendly attires from head to toe and I sometimes do bring along extra socks and hand covers for unexpected situations. But that depends very much on how bulky my handbag already is, if you know what I mean. This has brought me to what Dr. Muhaya used to say about solat friendly attires, especially her collection of instant hijabs with chin coverage. I however don't wear much of instant hijabs but that is somewhat resolved by my wide and/or long shawls that can be wrapped nicely for the neccesary coverage.

There you go. In the end, it's all coming back to our intentions. It's about we want to observe our solat or throw excuses not to, about we want to cover our auraah or not-just-yet to. Most importantly, let's spread love and not hatred. We won't help others by being judgmental and dismissive, don't you think? Live an examplary life and inspire others, that will be more like it..!

That's all for now. Thanks for dropping by. Catch you later! Assalamu'alaikum.

Pray for MH 370

Assalamu'alaikum. Ya Allah, please ease everything for everybody on board and those off board MH370. It's been 3 days and still no sign of anything just yet. Speculations have risen high. Stress is unquestionable. Distress is undeniable. Yet we must not lose hope.. Keep praying for them we shall..

Someone sent me a whatsapp message today, saying that the MH370 tragedy has some significance with surah Yaasin wherein the surah has 83 verses altogether and the flight was reported to be lost on 8/3/2014 at approximately 00:41. Verse 41 of that surah is as follows:

"And a sign for them is that We lodged them (their offspring) in a laden ship"

This by all means an unforeseeable circumstance, an Act of God. The fact that the verse in that surah has illustrated such situation is not a coincidence, but rather a point to ponder. However, there are others who disagree with such intrepretation of that verse, due to the fact that it's against 'reason behind the revelation' in the first place. Having said that, positive or negative outcome that awaits us ahead shall become a lesson learned in a hard way, of course. Impossible is only relevant to humans, not God. So, please have faith and make loads of du'as.

It saddens me a great deal to see loads of insensitive peeps out there keep making stupid remarks that bear no fruit whatsoever to other than themselves. Let us otherwise stay together and pray for some clues and loads of miracles..

The Heart Wrenching Lyrics, Soul Tugging Execution

Assalamu'alaikum. It's Fajr here in Malaysia, dear friends. A very good morning to you, then. Just a quick post at my end this time. Still on Ne Me Quitte Pass, though. The song itself is epic, of course, but wait till you understand the lyrics. Hands down, really. Whatever tragedy that moved a living soul to compose such powerful song and heart breaking lyrics must have been huge, man!

And coming from Celine Dion, I'm totally zombied.

(Taken HERE):

Don't leave me
You have to forget
Everything can be forgotten
That is flying away already
Forget the time
The misunderstandings
And the time that was lost
Trying to understand how
These hours can be forgotten
Those that are killing sometimes
With whys that hurt like punches
The heart of happiness

Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me

I will offer you
Pearls made of rain
Coming from countries
Where it never rains
I will work the earth
Until I die
To cover your body
With gold and light
I will create a kingdom for you
Where love will be the king
Where love will be the law
Where you will be the queen

Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me

I will invent for you
Meaningless words
That you will understand
I will speak to you
Of these lovers
That we've seen twice
Their hearts embracing each other
I will tell you
The story of this king
Who died of not being able
To get to know you

Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me

We have often seen
Fire flowing again
From an ancient volcano
That we considered to be too old
It seems like
Burned earth
Produces more wheat
Than a warm month of April
And when the night comes
And the sky is on fire
The black and the red
Won't go together

Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me

Don't leave me
I won't cry anymore
I won't speak anymore
I will hide right there
To see you
Dancing and smiling
And to listen to you
Sing and then laugh
Let me become
The shadow of your shadow
The shadow of your hand
The shadow of your dog

Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me
