Smiles Before Tears

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Dear friends, this picture was taken the day we lost a family friend. He went with us to the Big Ben Tower and died a few hours later after we reached our residence at Oxford Street. It was one of the coldest days in London and may be his seasoned heart couldn't stand it. I still can't bring myself to talk about this even though it's been more than a year the fateful event took place. But I guess now that I started to write an 'opening statement'.. I'm gonna blog about it soon.. Till then, take care... Assalamu'alaikum. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Vest Once A While

Image
السلام عليكم It's been another long day for me, what about yours? After work I went to the Skypark Subang Airport to bid farewell to someone. Didn't stay long. Didn't wander about either. I had this little headache actually. Plus, there's an important thing to settle very early in the morning tomorrow. Enough talking.. How about looking at the following two pictures taken there? I actually liked the blouse in the above picture, but decided against buying it. Didn't even look at its price tag. Anyways, the ensemble was: - Instant Hijab : Ariani - Peplum Blouse : The Poplook - Denim Vest : Jeans Studio - Palazzo : Unbranded - Sandals : Sembonia - Handbag : Esfolar It's been a while since I last wore the denim vest. It turned out to be a good layer companion to the peplum blouse - at least to me. ^_^ Can't write much. Bone-tired, seriously. Thanks for keep coming back for more. May Allah Bless You! Gotta go.. Cheerio..! Much Love, Nai at Ta

Unbreak My Heart

السلام عليكم I've been a lil bit too carried away by a custody battle I just got lately. I hope the effort I've put in making this possible would be fruitful. I owe that much to the kids, at least. That, I'm afraid has taken away my appetite and my sleep quality. Yeah, I'm being unprofessional.. Just can't help it. Being a mom myself I can't bear to see this woman suffer, let alone thinking of the kids' misery. Anyways, now that I'm done and would shoot into action soonest, at 6pm I'm suddenly hungry I could eat you! Heheheh. Gotta go find something to savour. But first, here are two of my pictures taken just before I wrote this entry: The OOTD details: - Maxi Hijab : Sydney Warehouse - Peplum Kinda Blouse : Zalora Malaysia (Naomi Tunic Top) - 3/4 Sleeve Blouse : V-One - Palazzo : Unbranded Ok, you guys.. Time to go! You take care. Until then, Cheerio...! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Sunnah Radio in Jakarta

Image
السلام عليكم OMG! It's passed 3 in the morning and here I am still... Well, let's just see this very entry now, shall we? Won't take long, I promise. Last 2 years I went to Jakarta and went to Radio Rodja, a Sunnah Radio. As you can see in the picture below, its frequency is 756 AM. The office is very modest but the purpose very God-pleasing. Everything is just about the religion of Islam, which is like IKIM in Malaysia. I won't elongate this entry, but no worries.. Feel free to check out Radio Rodja's website - radiorodja.com and Facebook - Radio Rodja Jakarta. That's it, dear.. Gotta catch some sleep. Fajr Prayer is less than 3 hours from now. And long day awaits me at work. Thanks for dropping by. Until then, Cheerio...! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Hand-Made Nyonya Kuih

Image
السلام عليكم I love Nyonya cuisine and even have a few Nyonya recipe books in my collection. I also love Nyonya home-made pineapple tarts and would buy in a bulk or two each time I go to Malacca. Almost all home-made Nyonya kuihs I adore. But nothing beats LULU Nyonya Kueh. I used to buy loads of them when I went to Mid-Valley a few years back. I almost jumped with joy when I found out last year that there's a Lulu Nyonya Kueh stall in Great Eastern Mall, which is nearby my place. All the kuihs are extremely superb and very colorful as well. Here's one of my all-time favorite, orange in color: You can google the images of other kuihs they're selling, no sweat. I should be going to Great Eastern Mall tomorrow!

Muslimah T-Shirt ~ Ukhti Collection

One Hectic Friday ~ Deja Vu

Image
السلام عليكم Hi there, dear friends! What a day for me! Went to KL Sentral lunchtime, took the LRT there. Didn't really have the appetite to eat, plus the fried rice I ordered at a 24 hour kopitiam was a failure with the capital F. Even the hot milo was a disaster, Astaghfirullahal 'azeem...! I then prayed Zuhr at the musolla, with loads of announcements at the back of my ear. Train to Rawang will be arriving in 5 minutes International Train to Woodland, Singapore will be arriving in 15 minutes Train to Ipoh will be arriving in 20 minutes And I closed my eyes... Sharp pain in my heart. KL Sentral really has weird effects one way or another. Loads of tears were shed here. Then I took the commuter to Mid Valley, had to meet someone at the Gardens' Dome. The entire half and hour of bitter-sweet memories.. They lingered in the air. I refused to close my eyes. The entire process of KL Sentral - Mid Valley - KL Sentral thingy was a deja vu for me. That I surrendered

Peach My Thursday, Purple.

السلام عليكم So, I called it a day at 6pm today. Took Junior to see the doctor for his running nose afterwards. Thank God he didn't have any fever. Just nice for my hectic weeks, actually. Another day awaits me tomorrow before the most looked forward weekend steps in. Let's look at my peach-orange-purple OOTD, shall we? Baggy, right? Junior was the cameraman, as usual. Quite a relenting party he was today. The ensemble was: - Orange Maxi Shawl : Nadia Hijabs - Peach Maxi Tunic : Textiles Bazaar, Sungai Besar - Purple Palazzo : Zalora.com - Shoes : Clarks That's it, dear friends. Thanks for dropping by. Until next entry, Cheerio...! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je السلام عليكم

Me and Baju Kurung

Image
السلام عليكم It's not something common to wear kurungs in our daily lives nowadays. Not in Klang Valley, at least. But for some, kurungs remain relevant. Especially for Eid celebrations. Or weddings, for that matter. Here are two pictures of mom, sis Ida and I in our Eid kurungs a few years back: I'd love to wear my kurungs more than I usually do, but my other half would go like, "Are you going to a wedding or something?" hurmmm.... Anyways, I love my kurungs. And they are relevant in my eyes still...

Tiger, My Eyes

Image
السام عليكم Hi there, dear friends. What do think of gemstones? I love them so awfully much. Especially rubies, emeralds and sapphires AND tiger's eyes. All this while I have been collecting bracelets made of tiger's eye stones. But last year I bumped into a stunning ring made of tiger's eye and fell in love at first sight. In my eyes, nothing could go wrong with the ring. Here's a picture taken at my brother's wedding day sometime last year. You can't possibly miss the tiger's eye sparkling ever so beautifully, smiling at you. The ring didn't really do justice to my finger for it wasn't made of the real silver, only plated thereof. After sometime it caused itchiness, which wasn't bearable. And later I decided to order another one, this time with the real silver. Thank God I have my BFF who happened to be a goldsmith back in Kuala Terengganu. Now I have this beauty in my collection: Next, I'm looking for granites. Hehehehe.

Unwanted Sport Light

Image
اسلام عليكم It's been a few days and my fever has broken. Alhamdulillah. But I got this awful red spot on my nose.. So irritating. Hehehe. Funny, though. It's hard to lose it as well, unlike pimples. A lil bit swollen, I guess. Not hurt at all, but obviously not a good thing to see. Here are two pictures taken 2 days ago and today, respectively. You can see the spot clearly, eventhough it seems to somehow get a bit slower - more to pink rather than red. Now see this: Notice the same hijab that I wore? Yeah, couldn't be bothered.. Hahaha.. Been too busy lately. No time to press my shawls or other hijabs of mine. Can do, la... That's all, dear friends. Nothing really, at least I found something to blog about. Thanks for dropping by, much appreciated. Until next entry, Cheerio...! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Bright Rainy Day

Image
السلام عليكم It's been raining this few weeks. So, let's brighten the gloomy days with some sunny colors, shall we? How's your day so far? Mine gonna be full right till evening. Let's just say, I'm busy and loving it. I made a point of going to my favorite spa nearby for long awaited facial during lunchtime. For if I didn't, it's gonna take me ages to have my blackheads and whiteheads duly removed. Next in line, gotta steal some time to do the scalp treatment. It's been screaming with itchiness for quite some time now. Sigh. Well, my next appointment is at 6.30pm. Done with my emails and vetting through draft agreements. Hence, this entry. Thanks for dropping by, lovelies. Until next time, Cheerio...! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. Oh, ya.. My OOTD: - Instant Hijab : Tailored - Blouse : Poplook - A-Cut Skirt : Tailored - Sandals : Sembonia Okay... Catch you later! السلام عليكم

The Sweetest, The Hardest

Image
السلام عليكم I've always had the hardest time to get my favorite Perfume, Lou Lou by Cacharel here in the region. Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore.. Just can't find any. I don't know if they have it in Philipines or Vietnam or Cambodia. But as far as this babe is concerned, the nearest I could get is in Australia. Oh My...! Well, may be I should become an agent for the perfume or something? ^_^ The same goes to its sister, Eden. It's hard to forget the sweetest smell. But to get it is even harder. So whenever I find those two sisters, I tend to buy more than one.. Depending on my budget that particular time, of course. If you guys have easy access to those two, please let me know... Thank you. May be we can be the bestest friend ever! Hehehe. That's all, dear friends. Thanks for dropping by. You're just like my two fave perfumes! Take a very good care of yourselves and bye for now. Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

The Lady In Maroon Hijab

Image
السلام عليكم Never outgrow myself for maroon hijabs. One of many, I particularly adore the following square maroon hijab: This was how I dressed last Eid-ul-Adha, at my in-laws'. The embroidered square hijab has been with me for ages that I lost track as to when exactly I bought it. Would immediately think of it whenever I have special occasions to attend, including weddings. And I tend to always match it with traditional kurungs like this one. There are loads of maroon hijabs in my closet but this one really holds a special degree somehow. Oh, ya.. I'm off today, there are a few patients at home to nurse. It's fever season, I guess. Thank God I'm in the pinkest of health. Alhamdulillah. Enjoy your weekdays, dear friends! Thanks for dropping by. Till then, Sayonara. Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Muslimah Wedding Dress In Lilac

Image
السلام عليكم It was 10th February. Chinese New Year. I attended a very simple wedding in Sungai Buloh, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The bride's wedding dress really caught my attention. Definitely one of my favorite colors, Lilac, it was very modest and Muslimah to bits. After 3 months of being engaged, this pretty cousin of my husband got married to her good looking partner. I wish them a marriage full of mahabbah & rahmah. Insya Allah. Thanks for dropping by, dear friends. Have a nice day ahead! Until next time, Cheerio..! Much love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Another Long Holiday ~ CNY

Image
السلام عليكم Juma'ah Barakah. How are you guys doing? It's gonna be another long holiday for us in Malaysia. This time it's Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Gong Xi. Gong Xi Fa Cai to all my Chinese friends. Hope this year of Snake bring luck and happiness... And for others who don't celebrate CNY, Happy Holiday. Must be loads of wedding tolls this time around...! It's been yet another long day for me and time to call it a day. You take care, dear friends. Thanks for dropping by. May Allah Bless you all. Ameeen. Until next entry, Cheerio..! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

A Little Bit Bigger M Size

Image
السلام عليكم Dear friends, how are you? Yesterday morning I met someone at Ampang Park. Before taking the LRT back to the office I checked in the First Lady, local favorite boutique. You can find First Lady's clothes at Zalora.com, actually. But old habit dies hard, so I made a point of browsing through. I bagged home a pair of M size long blouse. Really love the color! I wore it today at work. Turns out to be a little bit bigger, apparently. Would be perfect for my old jeans, Yeay...! Anyhow, I wore it with my tailored A-Cut Skirt and topped it up with a plain silk Pashmina from my last Abu Dhabi visit. Very feminine, I guess. The blouse is cheap, merely 29 MYR. But the sewing quality isn't that good. The fabric (cotton) itself feels so nice on the skin, though. Recommendable for hot weather, of course. There goes nothing, really. Thanks anyway for dropping by. May Allah Bless You. Until next entry, Cheerio...! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Cleansing Our Self-Invented Virus

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Tun Dr. Mahathir once said, "I can't help it. I'm a doctor. I remove a bad leg." (more or less). But not everybody is a doctor, so most people would try to fix bad legs. Sigh. But pray that one day we wake up in the morning and decide to release the past. The past that we have been hanging to like a self-invented virus. Let's not let it eat us anymore. Let's somehow start to cleanse it with yet another self-invented virus remover. Try to remember that we have been in pain for far too long. It's time to reclaim our hearts, as sister Yasmin Mogahed said so. But please don't expect it to be easy as we have always known how hard it's gonna be. Yet again, let's keep trying with all our mighty might. For we deserve the utmost freedom of our own hearts and souls. We deserve to love ourselves more. We owe that much to our own good selves. Let's release ourselves from this prolonged heart-breaks. It's okay to

Overdressed For Groceries

Image
السلام عليكم It was a long day for me yesterday. Clad in my work attire the whole day through. So, by the time I hit 'Giant', the nearby hypermarket, I was feeling a little bit overdressed. But yeah, not an alien thing for the neighbourhood. People in Klang Valley tend to work round the clock, that's why. Gotta get my fave local jam at Giant, i.e. Sri Kaya Cap Kipas Udang, which wasn't available at Jusco when I went shopping for groceries a few days ago. I love my hainan breads with Sri Kaya. My lifetime favorite, actually. Not everybody takes pictures at Giant, you know. Hahaha. But then again, Tak Pe Je pon...! So, the ensemble was: - Maxi Shawl : Nadia Hijabs - Embroidered Maxi Dress : Tailored (last Eid-ul-Fitri) - Shoes : Clarks (not that you can see them anyways, but it's ok..) So now that I got my Sri Kaya, it's time for my supper - Hainan Bread with Sri Kaya all over them! I know it's late, but I haven't taken my dinner. Chewah

Muslimah T-Shirt ~ A Humble Review

Image
السلام عليكم I have never had a Muslimah T-shirt in my collection. Not until "Ukhti" from Gedung T-Shirt Muslimah @ Alif Aisya Shoppe. I didn't expect it to be so comfy and so skin-friendly. Here's an image taken from the shop's FB: Mine is burgundy, L size ~ to ensure enough wind and handsome modesty.. ^_^ I have yet to wear it officially, but I'm in love with Ukhti now. Would share with you ladies once I dress it down or may be up, for that matter. How much was it? 54 MYR with minimum postage fee. You won't regret it, I promise... Till then, dear friends. Thanks for dropping by... Cheerio! Much love, Nai at Tak Pe Je, السلام عليكم

Formal Abaya Day

Image
السلام عليكم It's been a wonderful busy day for me by far. And I haven't taken my lunch, can you imagine? Now instead of going to get something to eat, I chose to update my blog and talk to you guys. Actually there's someone scheduled to meet me in the office at 4.30 pm, which is about now. So, gotta wait for that person first before hunting for food. Anyways, today I'm wearing a formal abaya that I got as a gift from Jordan last November. Haven't got the right time to put it on until today. It's good for air-cond office but won't be a good idea for outdoors. Steaming hot, I would say. Got to make use of this maroon square Bawal Hijab once in a while.. At least the softness of this hijab does help a lot, considering the fact that the abaya is already quite thick a fabric. Alhamdulillah. Ok, the person is here.. Catch you later. Thanks for dropping by. Until next entry, Cheerio...! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Please Don't Grow Up

Image
السلام عليكم You know, sometimes most parents get freak out when they realized how fast their kids grow up. Yeah, we tend to contradict ourselves in surprisingly many ways. Like, at one point we want them not to be too childish especially when they are no longer toddlers. But at another point we get scared to see them act like hurmmm... child-adults. Where have our little babies gone? I guess that's why my mom still plays this role of a Police Fashion everytime I have a function to attend. Or even a movie to watch, for that matter. Like, "Go and change to something better" or "Don't you think it's a bit too tight?" yada yada yada. And how young I am again? 36 mom.. Anyways, now that Junior is 9, I'm starting to be like, "Baby, please don't grow up so fast!" Happy Women's Day, which is everyday. Thanks for dropping by, may Allah Bless you all. Until next entry, Cheerio..! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Winter Night In Sydney

Image
السلام عليكم Hello there, dear friends. How's your weekend so far? Well, my family friend had asked me to join them to go to Sydney last school holiday. It wasn't winter like when I went there last year, but my other half was reluctant to go. He didn't like it last time we went ~ not his cup of tea, let's just say. But I beg to differ. It was winter so the shops were closed around 6pm and our hectic schedule of mediation course didn't finish until 6pm. So, by the time we were free, there was nowhere to hang out. Well, may be things are different in other seasons. I'm not so sure about it, though. Gotta ask around. But I do wanna go to Gold Coast or Perth. Or may be to Melbourne once more? Junior has been asking to see the kangaroos, so hopefully he's going to get his wish granted some time next year. Hopefully.. Those were some of the photos taken one night out after our hectic schedule. I just wore an inner and layered it with a snow cap. Dressin
