Old Flame With Oversized Come Back

Image
السلام عليكم Hi there, dear friends.. Today I received my long sought oversized shawls. Got them from Nadia Hijabs  ~ Check out her Facebook ( here ). Very sweet and friendly young lady. I assume she's much much younger coz I've always regarded myself as 'Old Enough'. Hehehe. Anyways, I wore one of them, peach tribal print for a meeting at the Great Eastern Mall, Jelatek. Mixed cotton really has been my lifetime favorite. The shawl reminds me so much of the similar material and print long time ago. Only that they used to be square, for that matter. Then in the evening I went with Junior to find something that he wished so much to get at the nearest mall available. The ensemble was: - Maxi Shawl ~ Nadia Hijabs - Embroidered Blouse ~ Jalan Kenanga, KL - Palazzo ~ BELLE - Handbag - MBMJ - Shoes - Scholl (*Note: The blouse was so worn out that the embroideries didn't really stay where they used to) I love all pieces that I chose from Sister Nadia&

Presence In A True Sense

Image
السلام عليكم It's Wednesday and I'm back to work. Supposed to do so yesterday but had to take charge in the kitchen replacing my beloved brother. Or else, before you knew it, mom would be forcing herself to cook. She's still not fit to do anything but rest. The ensemble for today:- ~ Pashmina : Gift from Egypt ~ Polka Dot Blouse : Miss Allysya ~ Palazzo : Poplook About presence, I have my own definition. It's a combination of physical and emotion. Like, if you cannot be present physically, at least be present emotionally. Vice Versa. If you can offer both, the better. That is THE Factor in all kinds of relationships if you wanna have a peace of mind. That's to me Presence In Its True Sense. Thanx for dropping by. Have a nice day ahead. Until next time, Sayonara. Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je.  السلام عليكم

WW ~ On Mom's Lap

Vintage Silhouette of The Girl From Yesterday

Can't wait to ride this bike of mine again.. It's been a while... The ensemble was:- - Two-tone plain Hijab : Jalan T.A.R - Red Striped Blouse : V-One - Blackcurrent Palazzo : BELLE - Color block shoes : Ampang Park That's all. Thanks for dropping by. Have a nice weekday, you guys. Until next time, Cheerio! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

The Forbidden Temptations

Image
السلام عليكم Counting days for normal food and beverages during confinement is just so human. But then again, it's all in our heads. There Is No Spoon... Remember? It's for our own good, ladies... (keep telling myself). Come certain age, we will have so many regrets and what-ifs. Hold your heart, Nai... 

Pins & Hijabis

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. It's Thaipusam and public holiday in Malaysia, even though some sectors do operate by choice. Like Junior's school, for example. May be because it's a tahfiz school with 100% Muslim students. Yeah, may be so. Anyways, today I feel like sharing two photos that gave me a lesson NOT to leave my (extra) pins (or brooches, for that matter) at home. I chose to style my square Tudung Bawal like this: Ok, now see this: Junior was just being a kid and couldn't bring himself to sit still. Yeah, that's normal for a kid. And who asked me not to pin my hijab? Well, I've never left home without any (extra) pin/brooch EVER SINCE. Why? Because Pins/Brooches and Hijabis are meant to be together till death to them part. Read: whichever (whose ever) comes first. That's it. Thanks for reading. Cheerio! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. Assalamu'alaikum.

Orange At A Blue Wedding

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. I attended a wedding today in Felda Chini 3, Pahang Darul Makmur. If it wasn't because of the bride, I wouldn't have gone. She's my staff, so I felt this urge to celebrate her big day even though my confinement has yet to reach 30 days. I didn't really have time to do my hijab so I felt a bit weird all the way to the function. I took everything from head to toe that didn't require any ironing. The ensemble was: - Hijab : Jalan T.A.R - Maxi Blouse : My Modern Kurung Top - Skirt : Poplook - Shoes : Sembonia Pumps (Not that you can see them anyway) The theme was blue.. And I was totally orange altogether. I wish them every barakah and rahmah in this world as well as the Hereafter. Ameeen. And I changed the hijab style once we stopped for prayers. It was tiring but worthwhile in every way. Nothing beats contributing to others' happiness... Thanks for reading, love you so much. Bye. Assalamu'alaikum. ... Nai at Tak P

Vintage Ourselves, It's Peplum Season...!

Image
السلام عليكم I'm upset with the quality of pictures taken with ipad, seriously. But better than nothing, here's a picture of myself with a peplum blouse. Junior is not schooling today but his school will commence on Monday, despite Thaipusam holiday nationwide. So he's the acting cameraman today. Even he knows to complain, "The photos not pretty, mummy.." The ensemble was: - Huge Print Hijab : Sydney Warehouse - Pumpkin Peplum Blouse : The Poplook - A-Cut Skirt : from my kurung modern I just came back from an informal meeting, my first in a long time with my BFF, Sue N. She looked so slim and vibrant in her Air Force uniform.. Seemed like Herbalife supplements really worked for her! Plus, now these days of late she's been wearing the very expensive corset thingy from Elken. Hurmm.. Good for her! Anyways, Happy Peplum Season...! ^_^ This is how it's supposed to look like, by the way: (taken from The Poplook's website). Not that bright, non

A-Cut Tunic For A-Cut Lady

Image
السلام عليكم Juma'ah Barakah you guys. You know, I used to loathe any clothes bigger than my size. But now it has become a major factor in my shopping requirements. Must be the age, I guess. The following are two different color tunics (of the same design) that I intentionally bought one size bigger some time last year. So that I can grab my jeans back with the tunics. THE BLACK ONE - taken during iftar last Ramadhan. THE RED ONE - with my former practical students. The A-Cut Tunics are good for A-Cut Lady, last time I heard. There goes nothing.. Thanks for dropping by. It's the last day of the week, so have a blast. Even if it's not the final day for you, do remember that it's still the most sacred day after all.. Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Corporate Color(s)

Image
السلام عليكم My favorite corporate color is greyish silver. Not forgotten, black and white. What about you? Anyways, thanx for dropping by. Happy Maulidul Rasul to all my Muslim friends out there. It's a public holiday here in Malaysia and there have been loads of programs dedicated to the Prophet's birthday. Hope you guys have a blast! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Submission of Faith

Image
السلا م عليكم Dear friends, when I was so sad last two weeks, someone I know gave me a du'a. It was taught by the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w to Ummu Salamah (Hindun Binti Abu Umayyah) to soothe her grieving heart due to her beloved husband's death. Here goes :- اللهم اجرني في مصيبتي واخلفني خيراً منها ( Allahumma Jurni Fi Musibati, Wa Akhlif Li Khairan Minha), which means: 'Oh Allah, grant me rewards for this unfortune and replace me with something better than that' Rasulullah s.a.w gave the beautiful du'a to Ummu Salamah when she came to him asking for advice as to how to overcome her great sadness. Indeed she must have been so broken-hearted for her loss, no doubt. Her dearest husband and she had been the most romantic couple in their days. Their love and affection for each other was no secret to anybody then. She turned down the proposals from the prominent companions, Saidina Abu Bakar and Saidina Umar Radiallahu 'anhuma due to her undying love for her lat

Maxi Dress On Its Own

Image
السلام عليكم Ok, still about maxi dress of Hijabi Boutique. This time, without any layering whatsoever. Simply on its own. Here goes a view from Hijabi Boutique's Facebook:- And this was my version when I attended Being ME Conference last year with my darling sister. Swollen eyes after so much crying the whole day through. ^_^ I really love this particular maxi dress. The color combo has been so very dear to me. I hope you love this look as much as I did and still do.. :) Anyways, the ensemble was:- - Pink Shawl : Jalan T.A.R, Kuala Lumpur - Maxi Dress : Hijabi Boutique - Handbag : Esfolar - Pink-Purple Shoes : Ampang Park Thanx for stopping by. Until next entry, Cheerio! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Layering Maxi Dress

Image
السلام عليكم It's been a while since my last purchase of any maxi dress from Hijabi Boutique. Loads of them already in my closet, that's why. And it takes all might not to get drooled when I browsed www.hijabiboutique.net today. I bought last time a pair of this kinda maxi dress. But mine is this color. And I layered it with a print tunic like this. Wore it when I went to KL Pavilion a few months back to watch The Skyfall. Good idea for the heavily air-conditioned area. Now it's Peplum Season and I'm posting my look wearing a peplum soon. When I'm okay to make a public appearance, of course.. Hehehe. Until then, do take care.. Thanks for reading. Bye for now. Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم N/B: As per requested by dearest Rin Maira, here are another 2 pictures for a better view of such layering.. ^_^ That's a wrap, then... ...Nai at Tak Pe Je. (Thanx to Cikgu Su for the lovely shawl from Aisyah Scarf)

Safely Landed

Image
السلام عليكم How are you frequently dressed when you go places? If I were to answer that question, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes I choose the simplest outfit in my closet and dress down to bits but sometimes I tend to dress up in great detail. The pictures above show one of the dressing down times of Nai. It was an impromptu weekend getaway nearby with our family friends. The ensemble was of the following:- Print Shawl - Jalan T.A.R, Kuala Lumpur Linen Blouse - Scarlet Khaki Pants - BELLE But the outfit was quite hot once I left the airport, causing great discomfort to me. Thank God the shawl was so soft and breezy, or else I might have ended up fainted. ^_^ Well, there goes nothing from me, thanks for reading anyways. Until next time, Cheerio! Much Love, Nai at Tak Pe Je. السلام عليكم

Casual Green & Sunny Day

Image

Paddy Field Delite (Selera Bendang)

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Most of us Malaysians come from kampung, but not everybody knows what paddy field delight is all about. There's a very modest restaurant in Sabak Bernam , Selangor that serves out of this world such delight. Known simply as 'Sajian Selera Bendang', you're looking at the most exotic traditional cuisine that you thought you'd never find anymore now that your grand grand mamas have long since gone. They don't open before Asar prayer but it can be arranged with one phone call. You see the pink and white striped t-shirt guy in the picture above? That's the owner-cum-chef, by the name of Abang Rosli. He's running the basic restaurant with his wife and kids. It's a family business ~ you can say that, yeah. Here are the pictures of the wonderful dish (some of them ~ Yang lain dah selamat masuk perut): Haruan ~ the fastest to go. Patin Masak Lemak ~ Northern Style Sepat Masak Cili ~ Dreamy Ones. Kedondong Asam Boi ~ Divine On

Awesome De' Chiang Mai Seafood Resto

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Have you heard of De' Chiangmai (Thai) Seafood Restaurant? Located in Kampung Melayu, Sungai Buloh, it's such a wonderful place to eat, especially dinner. Forget your diet, just pamper yourself & your stomach with all sorts of Thai cuisine you have in mind. Those who have been to Thailand and really wanna have that sinful delicious foods yet again, do give it a shot. You won't regret it, I promise. Provided you're a Thai and/or (sea)food lover, of course. I don't have any pictures of us with the food, coz each time we went there, we tend to forget about camera once we started savoring everything on the round table. But most of all, I really love the choices of desserts they offer. Their signature dessert must be the iced longan, at least to me and the family. If you're curious, there are plenty of images in the google search, though.. ( here ) The entire compound looks just like a Thai palace. And inside you can see the magnificent

How Was It Again?

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. A junior friend of mine asked me to give her some sort of tutorial for the following hijab look. I went like, How Was It Again? Problem is, I often suffer from Tryouts Amnesia, literally..! Always opt for some impromptu styles and forget totally how to do the same things all over again. Like, if I take my hijab off for prayers at work, the style will be completely different by the time I arrive home. Argh....!

Once A While Denim Skirt

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Kinda missing this sort of looks: - Instant Hijab - Long Sleeve Blouse - Blue Denim Skirt This was taken a few years back, in Ascott Jakarta. Yeah, may be after I'm back on my feet again (read : after the confinement) I'm gonna start wearing denim skirts again once in a while...

A contemplation of Aviator Sunglasses

Image
Assalamu'alaikum. Aviator Sunglasses sure look tempting. But each time I tried a pair of them on my eyes, I just don't feel right. I guess I haven't found a suitable size, that's why. Well, let's just use some photo editor and get the right one, shall we?
